naba is a single self-contained Rust binary — no runtime, no dependencies. The bootstrap installer below is the recommended way in; other paths follow.

Bootstrap (curl | sh) — recommended

The short, memorable one-liner. It fetches the vendor installer (a mirror of cargo-dist's naba-installer.sh), drops the binary in ~/.local/bin, and records an install receipt so naba can update itself later with naba self update.

This bootstrap script is a byte-for-byte mirror of the cargo-dist installer published on GitHub Releases — it in turn fetches sha256-checksummed release tarballs from GitHub. GitHub Releases remains canonical for every binary; this domain hosts only the convenience install.sh. Until the first tagged release is cut, the script prints a "no release yet" notice and exits non-zero so a premature run fails safely — browse github.com/dixson3/naba/releases for status.

Homebrew (macOS and Linux)

If you already live in Homebrew, the tap works too — upgrades come through brew upgrade (a Homebrew install does not self-update via naba self update):

Which one should I use?

Claude Code skills

naba ships a single Claude Code skill that wraps the CLI as /naba <subcommand> (e.g. /naba generate, /naba edit). The skill files are embedded in the binary, so installing them is offline and always version-matched:

naba skills install          # install the /naba skill (default: ~/.claude/skills)
naba skills upgrade          # rewrite from the binary's embedded copy, pruning stale files

Run naba skills upgrade after any naba upgrade (a self update already does this unless you pass --binary-only) so the installed skill always matches the binary. The skill shells out to the naba CLI, so the binary must be installed (above) and a provider API key set — see config.
